My thoughts today

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
- George Bernard Shaw

So my thoughts for today are just happy thoughts!  I woke up this morning and realized how extremely content and joyful I am and for so many reasons.  I have been blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life, a fantastic job, and a full life ahead of me with an open canvas to paint on, and I thank God for all these wonderful blessings.

So I decided to start posting about day to day things. Like my diet and exercise, my thoughts and outlook on life.  I will share posts on facebook, but mainly these are for me to stay focused and motivated in living my life to its fullest.

So my 1st goal for today is to stick to the Belly Fat Cure and my WW Points and to get my butt to the gym.  :)

My second goal is to smile and bring joy to someone today......This weekend I spent time with my friend Angie.  We went to garage sales, and flea markets.   Everywhere we went Angie talked to people, not just about the weather, but about life, their lives and her own life.  She brings joy to people, she remembers their names.   I love this about my friend and I hope that I can be more like her.  :)

Story Telling

So last night I was shopping at the Kmart in St. John.  There was hardly anyone there which makes me wonder how the place stays in business.  So there was a man walking around the store asking for gas money and wanting to trade a gift card of some sort for cash.  I really could not understand what he wanted, but a man buying dog food stopped to help him and did a trade of some sort at the cash register.  As I was watching these men, one down and out and another well to do who's wife probably sent him out for dog food for thier dog named Sparky, I thought to myself that each one of them had a story to tell.  How did they get to this moment in thier life?  What choices did they make right or wrong?  Were they happy with thier lives?

I will probally never know the answer to those questions of those two men.  I certainly was not going to follow them out to the dark parking lot to find out.  But it was nice to take a moment and wonder about these two strangers.  You see, I think that everyone has a story to tell and I also think that we can learn valuable life changing nuggets from the least likeliest of people.

I hope that I never become so caught up in my own life that I don't take time to really see people.  May I continue to learn, grow, see , and hear people's stories.....and may I never be afraid to tell mine.

So I think I will continue to blog.  If not for anyone who may read this, but for myself and for my own story that is yet to be written.  :)

Six Weeks to India

Here goes my first blog entry.  About three years ago, I realized that I was letting a lot of silly excuses keep me from living the life I wanted.  So I decided to do something about it.  I set some goals and changed my outlook on life.  I also asked God to give me a life of adventure and the courage to not let anything hold me back.  Little did I know what I was asking for.

Since then I have traveled to Europe and Africa and had the courage to face some very difficult things in life, including the ending of a nine year very unhealthy marriage.

So here is to a life full of adventure!   I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I would go to India for work.  Of course I said yes! So I thought this would be a great opportunity to set some new goals and to start a new blog.

So here is to my random life adventures! :)
